Christopher Pop-In-Kins Commercial Airs

Cap City Studios recently worked with the northeastern Ohio based company Imaginatives, Ltd. to produce a commercial for their featured product, Christopher Pop-In-Kins. Christopher had previously existed as a successful illustrated book and figurine, but it was Cap City Studios’ challenge to bring him to life for the first time through the process of animation.  After a short period of production that combined both 2D and 3D animation, the studio finished work on the :30 second spot. Currently, this commercial can be viewed in the Akron, Canton area on Time Warner Cable on the following channels:  ABC Family, Nickelodeon, Hallmark, Oxygen and WEN.  Cap City Studios enjoyed working with Imaginatives on this project, and welcomes further opportunities to bring fun characters to life and tell engaging stories.  We hope you enjoy the  commercial.

The “Fine Art” of Entrepreneurship at Denison

May, 2009     The fine arts and entrepreneurship have taken center stage in several initiatives this year at Denison University as part of the Burton D. Morgan Entrepreneurship Education Program.

Alumnus Tom Richner was the featured speaker in a cinema class, “Introduction to Animation,” where he talked with students about his entrepreneurial experiences with his own start-up, Cap City Studios, a new animation studio in Columbus. His presentation addressed, not only the challenges and victories of launching an arts-related business, but also the role of arts entrepreneurship in economic development.

Production Complete on Commercial Project

Cap City Studios just recently completed production on a :30 second animated commercial for a northeastern Ohio based company.  The production combined both 2D and 3D animation and should be released online, on television and in certain theaters within the next few weeks.  We will feature the commercial on this site as soon as its released.
